I did not go to conventional university at 18 after my a-levels. I started working in finance in London, but after a few years decided to study for my bachelors degree part time whilst working with The Open University. So my course was mostly done at home and online. However, I did still make some good friends who I still speak to regularly many years later.

I loved University. I went to the University of Southampton. I loved the campus, the staff and the people there. I was able to do so many research projects and prepare for my future too 🙂

University was a mixed bag! I moved from Pakistan to start uni here and I felt really lost at first, leaving all my family and friends and being on my own for the first time. But I slowly started to learn how to live and manage life on my own and really began to enjoy it. I made amazing friends who I’m still super close to 10 years later and even though it took me a while to get used to the studies and workload once I learnt how to balance it I really enjoyed it.
