About Me:
I live in a lovely village in Dorset, near to the sea with my husband, three children and two cats. I work at Bournemouth University as a lecturer and researcher. When I’m not working, I like to take walks on the beach with my family.

I used to be a police officer for many years before joining the university. I loved policing very much but I also love working in academia and conducting research. I have always loved reading and have recently discovered audio books – great for when I am travelling! I am a sucker for a good true crime documentary which I enjoy once the kids are in bed. I have two cats, one of whom likes to sit on my work diary and leave muddy paw prints all over it.

I do a lot of research into police officers who do not behave in an appropriate way. This could be saying bad things to other police officers or the public or sometimes, having inappropriate relationships with people.
-
My Typical Day:
My mornings normally start with a mad rush to get my children dressed and ready for breakfast club at school. Then I either go to University to work and teach or I go home to do some research. I like working from home sometimes because I can have a nice walk around my village at lunchtime. I then pick up my children from school and finish off working around 5pm.
-
What I'd do with the prize money:
I would spend the prize money on developing a crime solving workshop for schools where the children take on the role of forensic psychologists to help the police solve a tricky case.
